Insights Discovery Training
There is something quite amazing when you witness the moment where a room full of professionals see their Insights Discovery profile results for the first time.
You can cut the anticipation and the slight hold of breath with a knife and then one by one you see the room soften… Soften as everyone sees their personal mirror image in words, reflecting their traits in such accuracy and detail they can’t help but smile and shake their head in disbelief and wonder.
Last week I had the pleasure of watching Elliot Symonds, our very own Head of Learning and Development here at Jarrold Training, deliver this moment.
The participants had enjoyed a highly informative and entertaining presentation exploring the psychological methodology that the profiling uses. From Freud, to Cicero, to medieval times; the power of knowing the process of the system only strengths it’s importance more.
This is a modern psychometric tool for leadership and team development! Why are you talking history? I hear you cry!
100% you are right, but this fancy system is not your average modern, algorithm tool. The methodology steeps back in psychological history and has been adopted from Carl Jung’s ‘Psychological Types’ that he published back in 1921.
(Fun fact- Jung actually invented the terms we commonly use of introverted and extroverted!)
So why is this tool useful in our modern world?
With companies wanting to recruit and build streamlined, high performing teams that deliver; investing in what makes ‘people tick’ is more important than ever to ensure you are building a balanced and well represented organisation. The Insights Discovery methodology uses a simple and memorable four colour model to help people understand their style, their strengths and the value they bring to the team.
