This course is for anyone who works on or around a construction site or has cause to visit the site in the course of their work.
Course overview
The IOSH Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Workers (SHECW) is a practical and engaging one-day course is for people at any level, in any sector, needing a grounding in the essentials of health and safety. It provides the core knowledge you need to stay safe and embeds the good understanding and techniques needed to keep others safe too.
It will take delegates through the set-up of a construction site in a relatable scenario that develops as the course progresses. Delegates will understand the importance of:
- site safety
- recognising and managing health risks and high risk activities
- dealing with incidents - the wider environment
CSCS Card
This tutor led, face to face (classroom or virtual) course is accepted as a route to the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Green Labourer card.
CSCS do not accept the e-learning version of the course for their Green Labourer card.
To apply for a CSCS Green Labourer Card, you must also meet the following requirements:
- Age: You must be 16 years old or older.
- Qualifications: You need to have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the past two years.
