Whether you are new to leadership, feel that your leadership can be improved or aspire to be a leader then this course will provide you with ways to be comfortable and confident in your role, so you are able to motivate your team to maximise their productivity and performance.
You'll discover how to select appropriate motivational techniques for different individuals and learn how to create the team dynamic you want.
You’ll also develop your knowledge and understanding of how effective communication at work can increase staff motivation and productivity.
At the end of the course you will:
- Be able to explain and identify a range of individual differences that affect levels of motivation in your workplace.
- Know how to deal with the potential impact on organisational performance if employee motivation levels are low.
- Understand a range of recognised theories of motivation and know how to apply them in order to improve performance in your workplace.
- Understand how to use employee engagement to increase motivation levels.
- Be able to identify the principal factors that may affect performance and motivation in your workplace and evaluate them to provide a conclusion or recommendations.
This one day course is aligned to the ILM Level 3 qualification in Leadership and Management.

Credits: 2
This unit can be taken to gain additional credits by passing a criteria based assignment. The credits gained can to be used towards a further ILM Level 3 qualification.
- If you have between 4 and 12 credits at level 3 you have an Award.
- Between 13 and 36 credits at level 3 gains you a Certificate.
- 37 credits or over gains you a Diploma at level 3.
Most people undertaking the accredited element of this course will already be registered with ILM.

The course runs from 9:30am through to 4:30pm.
You will learn in a relaxed environment with a small group of people. A specialist tutor will guide and encourage you through all the learning necessary to develop your skills and questions are always welcome.
