You may be creating a new team or establishing a more effective team from an existing group of people. Regardless, if you are a manager or team leader you are collectively responsible for the ultimate outcome.
This course will teach you a variety of tools, techniques and concepts you need to create a team that works together and performs outstandingly.
The course will provide you with a clear understanding of exactly what "effective working relationships" are - and how to cultivate them within your team, you'll consider the key components of an effective team and the symptoms of a dysfunctional one together with the stages involved in team development and management.
At the end of the course you will:
- Be able to explain the benefits of effective working relationships in developing and maintaining the team
- Be able to identify behaviours which can develop and maintain trust at work
- Understand the role of communication in developing effective team working
- Understand the differences between groups and teams
- Know how to identify team members preferred roles
- Understand how to establish team roles and responsibilities
- Understand your own team management style
- Be able to Identify characteristics of teams and how to get the best from them
- Know how to develop morale and trust
This one day course is aligned to the ILM Level 3 qualification in Leadership and Management.

Credits: 1
This unit can be taken to gain additional credits by passing a criteria based assignment. The credits gained can to be used towards a further ILM Level 3 qualification.
- If you have between 4 and 12 credits at level 3 you have an Award.
- Between 13 and 36 credits at level 3 gains you a Certificate.
- 37 credits or over gains you a Diploma at level 3.
Most people undertaking the accredited element of this course will already be registered with ILM.

The course runs from 9:30am through to 4:30pm.
You will learn in a relaxed environment with a small group of people. A specialist tutor will guide and encourage you through all the learning necessary to develop your skills and questions are always welcome.
