There are no prerequisites for this qualification, although it is recommended that delegates have a minimum of level 1 in English or equivalent.

To register for this qualification, delegates are required to be 14 years of age or above.

• Understand the principles of hazardous substances in the workplace
• Understand how hazardous substances can cause hazards and risks to health within the workplace
• Understand how risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances in the workplace
• Understand the precautions and procedures necessary to ensure the risks associated with hazardous substances are properly controlled

This qualification is assessed by a 15-question multiple-choice examination that must be completed within 30 minutes.

Successful delegates will have to demonstrate knowledge across the unit content and correctly answer 9 questions or more to achieve a pass. This qualification is graded as Pass or Fail.

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Highfield Level 2 Award in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (RQF).

This award has been developed and is awarded by Highfield Qualifications and sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is a qualification framework regulated by Ofqual and CCEA Regulation. It is also suitable for delivery in Wales and is regulated by Qualifications Wales.

The course runs from 9am through to 5pm. 

You will learn in a relaxed environment with a small group of people. A specialist tutor will guide and encourage you through all the learning necessary to develop your skills and questions are always welcome.
