This course is suitable for anyone who is a manager, because every manager needs an understanding of their health and safety responsibilities.

Please note, although the certificate does not expire, it is best practice and industry standards to refresh within five years.  This can be done by completing our IOSH Managing Safely Refresher course.  

In this course, you will learn:

• How to assess and mitigate workplace risks by learning the tools to work safely.
• How to identify workplace hazards and investigate work-related accidents.

​Memorable and thought-provoking facts and case studies help drive the points home over the whole course. Each module is backed by crystal-clear examples and recognisable scenarios, and summaries reinforce the key learning points of:

IOSH Assessment
At the end of the course there is a 45 minute closed book assessment consisting of 25 questions.
 
IOSH Project
As part of this course, you will complete a risk assessment project within your own work environment. The completed project has to be submitted to Jarrold Training within 14 days of completing the course.
 
A pass mark of at least 60% is required in both the assessment and project to enable an Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) certificate to be issued.

A pass mark of at least 60% is required for each assessment with an aggregate pass mark of 60% to enable an Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) certificate to be issued.
 

The course runs from 9am through to 5pm.
You will learn in a relaxed environment with a small group of people. A specialist tutor will guide and encourage you through all the learning necessary to develop your skills and questions are always welcome.

I'm new to IOSH, where would you recommend I start? 

IOSH offer a range of courses available at different levels, so it would depending on your experience and current job role. The courses are aimed at the following levels: 

• IOSH Leading Safely: For senior management or leadership roles.
• IOSH Managing Safely: For managers, supervisors or team leaders, or for anyone who has responsible for the safety of others at work.
• IOSH Managing Safely Refresher: To refresh your existing IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
• IOSH Working Safely: For other employees and interested parties to provide a manageable overview of safety in the workplace.
• IOSH Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Workers: This course is for anyone who works on or around a construction site or has cause to visit the site in the course of their work.

How long does an IOSH Managing Safely certificate last for?
