The APM Project Management Qualification is aimed at those wishing to achieve a broad level of project management knowledge sufficient to participate in projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects.

This intermediate level knowledge-based qualification is designed for all practising project managers who require an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles, tools and techniques for successful project management. This course is ideal for people with  2-3 years of experience as a project professional or be actively undertaking a project management apprenticeship or degree.

This qualification is perfect if you are aiming to advance your career, enhance your employability, and gain a broad understanding of project management without focusing on a specific methodology.

There are no pre-requisites for the APM PMQ course, but it can be useful to have a previous qualification, such as APM Project Fundamentals Qualification. 

Using a blend of knowledge sharing, practical application through case study examples, interactive discussions and sample examination questions this course will address the tools, techniques and the soft skills required for successfully managing projects. This approach to learning will then prepare you for the APM Project Management qualification examination.

The APM PMQ (International Project Management Association (IPMA) Level D) is an internationally recognised qualification awarded by the Association for Project Management, the UK's leading association for project management professionals.

The accredited APM courses are delivered in association with Parallel Project Training, an Accredited Training Organisation.

APM PMQ exam -  Taken online after training has been completed. Details of how to book yourself onto the exam will be given to you on the first day of training.

The APM Project Management Qualification is assessed through a 2.5 hour online exam. The exam includes 40 questions worth a total of 90 marks, covering all learning objectives in the syllabus. The question types include:

• Multiple response (20 questions worth 1 mark each)
• Select from list (5 questions worth 2 marks each)
• Short response (5 questions worth 2 marks each)
• Long response (10 questions worth 5 marks each)

There is an optional break of up to 30 minutes between the two parts of the exam.

Results are received within 6-8 weeks.  Learners are notified that their results are available on the APM candidate portal by email. Upon successful completion, candidates will receive a PDF certificate and have access to a downloadable digital badge which can be used as a sign of success.

After successful completion, you are awarded the APM Project Management Qualification, which is SCQF Level 7 and does not expire.  APM members are encouraged to participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities to keep their knowledge up to date and relevant.

The course runs from 9:00am through to 4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00am to 4:00pm on Friday.
