Most of our non-accredited courses run between 9:30 and 16:30, but we ask people to arrive a bit earlier to allow for registration and to relax with a drink for a few minutes before training starts.
Accredited courses are normally 9:00 to 17:00.
Management courses are different in that they are half day sessions usually running from 9:00 to 13:00 over several weeks.
Full joining instructions are provided before your course and will confirm the start and finish times.
Times are also shown on each course profile page.
Do I need to bring anything?
We provide everything needed for the course, including refreshments before the course starts, morning break, lunch and afternoon break. Pads and pens are provided along with course notes on a CD. Polos are also provided. We appreciate that other mints are available, but we only use Polos! Apparently they aid concentration.
What should I wear?
Anything you feel comfortable in! Many people do wear suits or whatever is normally expected at their place of work, however a more casual approach is fine. The main thing is feeling comfortable during training.
How many other people will be on the course?
We limit our IT courses to 8, or even 6 people for certain courses and our Management and Business Skills courses are limited to 12 people. Occasionally we have to cancel a course, but if at all possible we will run a course, even with low numbers.
Are the courses accredited?
Some of our Management, Project Management and Health & Safety courses carry accreditation. Learn more.
For all our other courses, a Jarrold Training certificate of attendance is provided.
Lunch & refreshments
Are refreshments provided?
Yes to both. We provide hot and cold drinks along with biscuits to get you through until lunch time! If you are coming to Norwich, you can relax in our refreshment room, catch up on the BBC news and help yourself to a hot or cold drink.
Our courses have breaks at around 11am and 3pm, giving your eyes a rest from the screen and a drink to help you along the way.
Did we mention Polos?
Is lunch included?
Absolutely. We provide lunch at most of venues. Read more.
Can you cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes. Our normal lunch venue (The Refectory at Norwich Cathedral) is very good with special requests as their food is made fresh on the day, however we ask for advance notice of any special requirements, just to be sure.
Finding us
Which postcode should I use for Sat Nav?
Use NR3 1UB, that's not the one for our postal address! The car park is accessed via Gilders Way, the same turn off used for Nuffield's Health and Fitness Club. Google's satellite imagery is very out of date so looks a bit misleading.
Car parking
We have ample free car parking for people attending our courses. The car park is accessed via Gilders Way, the same turning used for Nuffield's Health and Fitness Club off Barrack Street. Use the postcode NR3 1UB if using Google Maps (other Internet maps are available) for directions. Google's satellite imagery is very out of date so looks a bit misleading. We have dark blue Jarrold signs, pointing you in the right direction.
Other questions
Can you run courses anywhere else?
Yes we can. We often run training courses at our customers' sites throughout East Anglia and courses can also be arranged at a suitable hotels if you don't have training facilities. Most of our training takes place at our Norwich Training Centre. It is ideally setup for our training and it can be an advantage for delegates to be away from the inevitable distractions of their own office.
Do you offer training needs analysis?
Yes we do. It tends to be something we offer to groups of people from the same company. If an individual is unsure which level of a course is appropriate or even which course our trainers are always happy to have a phone conversation to make sure you choose the best course for you.
Do you offer a charity discount?
We offer all registered charities a 10% discounts on our non-accredited courses.
