As our current cohort of modern Apprentices move into the second half of their learner journey, Jarrold Training are delighted to announce that the next ‘wave’ of Apprentices from CEFAS (Centre for Environment Fisheries & Aquaculture Science) will be starting with us in April.

The thing which excites us so much is that you probably couldn’t imagine a more different set of learners attending the same course. Our first ‘wave’ were all working in a high end, department store of immense repute, Jarrold. Here they were serving discerning customers, engaging with luxury brands and also providing leadership for their colleagues. Our next ‘wave’ all hail from a scientific background and work within a government department who are world leaders in marine science and technology, providing innovative solutions for the aquatic environment, biodiversity and food security.

While one set of learners work within a store environment balancing the art of customer experience with the challenge of a demanding retail sector, the new ‘wave’ are often on the high seas, conducting scientific research aboard research vessels and negotiating with fishermen around the world to come on board and investigate their catch!

However, both groups have plenty in common in that they manage people, projects and operations, with the skills of leadership and management being core.

Jarrold Training have for many years run open courses for the ILM level 3 bringing people together from diverse backgrounds and sectors to learn, develop and be brilliant. We do this by enhancing the academic learning via application in the workplace which improves performance.

Our Level 3 Diploma Team Leader Supervisor Apprenticeship offers classic training in Leadership and Management over the course of about eighteen months. Our delegates learn a broad, but in depth range of classic skills with the arena of Leadership and Management covering such topics as Communication, Finance, Project Management, Problem Solving and Managing People.

We are absolutely delighted with the Apprentice programme created and delivered for us by Jarrold Training. Elliot and the team at Jarrold training have made it great fun as well as challenging.

We have a group of 6 rising stars from our Team Leader group  on the course and the difference we have already seen in their engagement and energy has been brilliant.  One of the group has just been promoted to Department Manager and I’m confident that we will see great things from all of them.

We have already planned to repeat this Apprentice Programme as a key part of our training for this year.
