Fairfax & Favor recognised the need to strengthen leadership during their period of rapid growth, international expansion, and office relocation.

Background

Fairfax & Favor, a British luxury fashion and rural vogue retailer, is at the forefront of retail for those passionate about style and adventure. Now a decade old, this multi-award-winning brand is recognised as one of the UK’s fastest-growing companies, according to The Sunday Times. As they planned for international expansion, a move to a larger office, and a new warehouse, Fairfax & Favor identified the need to develop their leadership and management teams to guide the company through these transformative changes.

Initial contact was made in September 2021, with Fairfax & Favor seeking a partner who could build on their existing strengths, introduce innovative leadership concepts, and provide the tools and techniques needed to lead effectively through change.

The Challenge

Fairfax & Favor’s goals included exposing their teams to fresh leadership approaches and equipping them to manage effectively through a period of growth and change. They had previously worked with other training providers but found the results did not meet expectations. This experience made the choice of a new training partner particularly significant.

Through a discovery process involving interviews and workshops, we assessed their current situation, strategic aims, and organisational culture. Insights Discovery was introduced to the Board and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as an initial step, with plans to extend this approach to management. To provide recognised value, we designed a bespoke development programme including ILM Level 3 and Level 5 Certificates in Leadership and Management, with senior managers mentoring delegates for additional support.

Our Approach

  1. Insights Discovery Workshops: Delivered for the Board and SLT to foster self-awareness, effective communication, and team cohesion.
  2. Customised Courses with option of ILM Certification: A bespoke ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management was created, followed by an ILM Level 5 for advanced leadership skills, tailored to Fairfax & Favor’s unique needs.
  3. Long Term Partnership: Training began with Insights Profiles in late 2021, and has continued throughout the last 3 years with more Management Training, Negotiating Skills, and even Microsoft Excel.
