So You Want to Become an Insights Practitioner?

We are building something exciting here at Jarrold Training, a community.

Not just any community, a hub for aspiring and existing Insights Discovery Client Practitioners with experienced Licensed Practitioners at its core for support. Some of you may have experienced our Insights Discovery workshops, where we engage, challenge and inspire teams through the journey of self-discovery within Jungian Psychology.

Commonly, people ask us, “can I become a practitioner myself?” Well….you can.

Gaining an Insights Discovery Accreditation allows you to embed Insights Discovery within your own organisation. At Jarrold Training, we will support you through your training and beyond, being your point of contact when you need us. With a collective 25 years of experience delivering Insights Discovery, we are a sounding board for you. Whether it’s related to content, producing your session resources, building effective session plans or simply overcoming individual challenges with delivery, we’ve all been there ourselves.

What does your training look like?

It’s been 3 years since I completed my training to become an Insights Practitioner. I chose to attend virtually, but the option to attend in person is also available. I joined a cohort of 12 other aspiring practitioners from across the globe, ranging from Dubai, South Africa, Italy, the USA and of course Norwich. It truly was inspiring to witness how far Insights Discovery has travelled.

We were assigned two Insights trainers, both sharing their Cool Blue and Sunshine Yellow Insights Discovery preferences early on. This gave us an opportunity to learn from not only two perspectives and teaching styles, but an interesting dynamic of opposite types, coming together to demonstrate their strengths.

Over multiple sessions, your training will cover the theory behind Insights Discovery, delving into the past to demonstrate how this simple four colour model was inspired by incredibly complex psychology. Being able to explain this theory in simple terms during sessions when asked, allows you to remove some of the doubt which may surface within some who attend your sessions. The cool blue energy demonstrated by one of my trainers was of importance here, as she went into detail about the model and how the profiles are formed.

Opportunities to practice your delivery in group sessions and on a one to one basis are a plenty. The sunshine yellow energy took over here and demonstrated various sections of content delivery with abundant enthusiasm, before giving us an opportunity to practice ourselves. We were formed into small working groups with the remit to create sections of an Insights Workshop. Working together, we practiced our delivery to each other, gaining useful feedback throughout. This practice was essential to move the new found knowledge to understanding and application of the content. To be signed off as a Licenced practitioner, I had to demonstrate my learning by performing a micro teach on my allocated section of content.

This whole process was encouraging and supportive throughout, with tangible feedback on delivery style and tips to enhance my delivery from Insights experts and the other professionals going through the same process. Whilst every person in attendance demonstrated an ability to understand and deliver the content and gain their accreditation, there was a common concern at the end of the session, “now I have to do this for real”. Considering everyone had come together for the same purpose, I was surprised how many of the cohort voiced their concerns of public speaking when they realised that now qualified, they would be expected to deliver the content to groups within their organisations. Insights will supply you with a lot of resources to supplement your learning. Course notes, slides, practitioner guides which cover theory, application and delivery and access to an online forum full of other practitioners delivering the content. What they struggle to support you with is the confidence to put your new accreditation into practice in reality, this is where we come in.

Before, during and after my accreditation, I was lucky enough to have access to an established team of practitioners at Jarrold Training to help me to refine my delivery, you can have this too. We are here for advice, support, training and encouragement to put this learning into practice and deliver Insights Discovery sessions which reach the core of the teams around you.

Not only do we have a suite of training courses, many of which complement this accreditation to support you to gain the confidence to deliver, but we have been doing this for a long time and believe we’re pretty good at it. Who better to support you as part of the Jarrold Training – Insights Discovery Client Practitioner Community?
